Pheasant Breast Fillets

Season: October - February

  • Quick and easy to cook and carve
  • 3 pack weight options
  • Eco-friendly shot option now available
  • Average fillet weight 75g
  • Dispatched chilled

The breasts have been skilfully filleted by our butchers to save you time in both cooking and carving. Breasts can be baked in a sauce or casseroled  but pan frying is by far the easiest way of cooking.

Please note the 2kg pack option is an ungraded (Grade B) pack with smaller fillets which may also have blemishes caused by shot. This option is a more economical for casseroles and pie making. If you want some neat and tidy fillets for a smart dinner party, do not buy this option!

Traditionally, lead shot is standard for shooting game birds like pheasant. However, as the British game sector transitions towards more sustainable ammunition, we're pleased to offer an Eco-friendly (typically steel shot) option alongside the standard choice. To learn more about lead shot safety, click here.  While steel shot is far more Eco-friendly, it can be harder on our teeth than lead, which is a relatively soft metal. So please bear this in mind when ordering the Eco-friendly option.

Pan fry for 2-3 minutes on both sides. Or alternatively just brown in pan and then roast for 5 minutes.
